# Connect Google Sheets

> Google Sheets as a Synclify source is in development.

<Note>
  **Coming soon.** Google Sheets appears in the connection wizard's source picker marked **Coming soon** and can't be selected yet. Airtable is the supported source today — see [Connect Airtable](/data-sources/connect-airtable).
</Note>

We're building Google Sheets support so you can turn any spreadsheet into a live Webflow CMS collection — rows become CMS items, columns become fields.

## What to expect

When it ships, a well-formed sheet will connect like any other source:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Header row as field names">
    Row 1 holds column names. Synclify uses them as field labels in the mapper.
  </Step>

  <Step title="One column as the identity field">
    A unique, stable column — a slug or ID — to match rows to CMS items. See [Identity field](/how-synclify-works#the-identity-field).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Map and activate">
    [Map fields](/connections/field-mapping) and let [guided setup](/connections/guided-setup) handle existing records.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## In the meantime

Airtable covers the same use cases today and imports from a spreadsheet in a couple of clicks. [Connect Airtable](/data-sources/connect-airtable) to get syncing now.
